Should the seller spackle the wall after unmounting the TV?
I am buying a house. The seller has a wall mounted TV. Seller wants to take the TV. I am afraid that the wall looks ugly after he removes the TV and the mounting bracket.
Is seller required to spackle the wall after he/she removes the TV and mounting bracket? Or is it my responsibility. This is not addressed in the contract.

LOL. If that’s the only problem you have after moving in, fall down on your knees and thank Jeebus.
Spackle takes, what, 15 minutes?
Besides, where were you going to put YOUR tv?
$10 says the cable outlet is right there anyway.
Yes and when you do the walk through before the closing and the hole is still there. Then at closing demand 500 for repairs and painting
It must be addressed in the contract…….no one is required to do anything unless it is in the seller/buyers agreement……..written……..ask your Realtor……..
The sale of real estate is mostly regulated by contract. There is no state law that I am aware of that addresses this an any way.
If you let a guy take the built in dishwasher with him and he does not paint the wall behind it to match the rest of the kitchen- that is also not addressed in any state law.
If the contract is totally silent on this TV thing you may have an argument that says that the seller should at least leave the TV mount that is bolted into the wall. But it would depend on how your contract is written.
If it isn’t addressed in the contract, the seller isn’t required to fix it. However, if you don’t want to fix it yourself, have your agent draw up an addendum asking him/her to fix it. Worst thing that could happen is that s/he will say no.
You could ask the seller to fix it after the walk-through, but again s/he could still refuse to.
would you ask to spackle when he takes all of his pictures down i would not its not major it will take you less than 20 mins
Tell the owner that they should repair the holes first after they will sell it to you or just leave the TV on to avoid exposing the unwanted holes.
